Christel and Kyle: naturally sexy
We hiked up the hill to the spot where Kyle proposed to Christel in Del Mar. It was a picturesque setting with rare Torrey Pines surrounding the hillside, clear blue skies above, and the pearly ocean just beneath us. I hadn’t even started taking pictures yet when Kyle wrapped his arms around Christel – they embraced. Kissed. Naturally. It was the beginning of an amazing photo about two young people in love.

Congratulations to James and Lisa’s engagement! Their engagement photo session took place at beautiful Laguna Beach, CA near the Montage Resort. We started their fun portraits in the village and ended up surrounded by waves in the ocean!
My favorite engagement picture of the day – we caught this set of waves in the shot that made it look like their on clouds. I’m totally excited and looking forward to their wedding day!

Stylish, passionate, romantic, and adventurous are the perfect words that describe Marcia and Scott. They flew down all the way from Ontario, Canada to meet me at Laguna Beach, CA for their engagement photo session! They wanted to do something fun and romantic with a scenic California background so we couldn’t go wrong with Crystal Cove. Here is one of my all time favorite images captured from their engagement portraits at the beach:
Their visit was extremely short – we literally had just under two hours for their photo shoot before they had to speed straight back to LAX to catch their flight back to Canada! It was a quick session, but I was still able to connect with Marcia and Scott. Their connection and love for one another was easy to capture, and this session became the prelude for an epic wedding in Sicily Italy. They ended up booking me!

Back in February there were a couple of storms that hit Southern California hard. It was during a time when I was trying to schedule Ruth and Leonel’s post wedding/trash the dress photo shoot. They wanted to try something cool (literally) that I had never done before, which was shoot up in the mountains. In the snow. So when the storms came and went, they left snow capped mountains for us to play in!
Definitely not the typical wedding photography, but it was refreshing to shoot in a new environment and loads of fun because Ruth and Leonel were up for anything.
We saw this fallen log in the lake so naturally I had to say “hmm that would make a great image with you on it”. I almost regretted saying that because once Ruth and Leonel got on the tree, in the lake, a branch that supported the tree broke and it came crashing down! Fortunately they were both agile enough to stay on it without falling in the water.
It did make for great pictures but now the dilemma was how they were getting back to shore…

To this date Chris and Raluca’s wedding is high on my short list of the funnest events that I’ve photographed. It started off with an early morning photo session at the San Juan Capistrano Train Depot and tracks. We had a blast wondering around the historic part of town – Chris and Raluca are big hams so it was real easy to get great shots of them just enjoying their time together.
We had a little bit of time right after the wedding, so we all headed for the beach to catch the sunset.
