Eva & Jay | Cerritos Center for Performing Arts

It was my first time shooting a Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts wedding. Jay and Eva picked it because of the gorgeous architectural design. It was like my dream job – to be able to photograph a wedding in a venue that’s known for the architecture! I’ll be starting to edit their wedding pictures this week, but for now I’ll post a teaser image:

Ruth & Leonel in the Snow

Back in February there were a couple of storms that hit Southern California hard. It was during a time when I was trying to schedule Ruth and Leonel’s post wedding/trash the dress photo shoot. They wanted to try something cool (literally) that I had never done before, which was shoot up in the mountains. In the snow. So when the storms came and went, they left snow capped mountains for us to play in!

Definitely not the typical wedding photography, but it was refreshing to shoot in a new environment and loads of fun because Ruth and Leonel were up for anything.

We saw this fallen log in the lake so naturally I had to say “hmm that would make a great image with you on it”. I almost regretted saying that because once Ruth and Leonel got on the tree, in the lake, a branch that supported the tree broke and it came crashing down! Fortunately they were both agile enough to stay on it without falling in the water.

It did make for great pictures but now the dilemma was how they were getting back to shore…

Joy and Ryan | Kauai

It’s been less than a week ago and I already miss the island of Kauai. Not because the island was spectacular with breathtaking views and nice weather, nor because of the best local Hawaiian food I ever had. Well, it was partly because of those reasons, but the main reason was because I really enjoyed Ryan and Joy’s destination wedding – every moment, beginning with their pre wedding photos, the bridal prep, getting to know their friends and families, the trash the dress session we did on various beaches, and hanging out with everyone from the wedding on a catamaran tour of the island. “I miss you guys!”

Karly & Branden | Spanish Hills

Branden and Karly: they are beyond beautiful. Not only are they outrageously good looking on the outside, they have hearts of gold. Their kindness and gratitude toward family and friends, the genuine joy that shines in their eyes, and the ease in which they can enjoy each other was quite touching. It was a pleasure to have been able to spend the day with them amongst their closest family and friends. I feel so blessed to have been part of such a beautiful day.

Karly just radiates beauty!

It probably doesn’t even matter what they’re talking about, where they are, nor how special the occasion – they just enjoy each other every moment.

Raluca & Chris | Dana Point

To this date Chris and Raluca’s wedding is high on my short list of the funnest events that I’ve photographed. It started off with an early morning photo session at the San Juan Capistrano Train Depot and tracks. We had a blast wondering around the historic part of town – Chris and Raluca are big hams so it was real easy to get great shots of them just enjoying their time together.

We had a little bit of time right after the wedding, so we all headed for the beach to catch the sunset.

Congratulations to Linda and Kevin for their wedding feature on Bride and Bloom Magazine!“An Old Hollywood Romance”

It was one of the grandest weddings I’ve ever photographed, and certainly one with the most intricate details. Linda Ly of Grand Soirees Event Design & Coordination (yes she’s both the bride and event designer) put her creative talents and passion to good use as she hand crafted most of the wedding decor, props, and giveaways. Being a fabulous wedding planner herself and having seen some amazing weddings, Linda had a grand design. “Once the ring was on her finger, Linda begain planning her wedding immediately.”
She managed to combined elements from Chinese and Vietnamese cultures, and old Hollywood glamour. You can see the original blog post here and their slideshow here.
That’s right, you see FIVE dresses that she wore on her wedding day. “How many opportunities do you have to do as many crazy and zany things as you want?” – Linda

Ria & Marco | Greystone Mansion

Ria and Marco’s beautiful wedding at one of my all time favorite venues: Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills

Marco and Ria agreed to meet before the wedding so they can steal a moment together. It started with the “first meeting” – where I set up the time and location for them to secretly meet – it’s totally intimate so the two lovers can completely enjoy a special moment alone. Ria and Marco had the opportunity (and the only time during the rest of the day) to be themselves, together, intimately, privately, to really talk and relax.

Jeanne & Phil

Congratulations to Phil and Jeanne!

It was one of the grandest weddings this year with over 500 guests, several locations, three different ceremonies, and lots of beautiful people. Jeanne and Phil started their wedding with traditional Indian culture by hosting a Sthuthi ceremony with their respective families. It was a combination of a prayer followed by blessings from their relatives. Then this was followed by a traditional Catholic ceremony at Holy Family in Artesia, mixed with some Indian traditions.

Right after the ceremony we jumped into a party bus with the entire bridal party and headed for the beach!
